Spiritual fathers in the body - The Body of Christ Week 8

The church has adapted the concept of Spiritual Fathers to suit how we live in our society today. In this teaching we unpack what the scripture says and means about Spiritual Fathers so that we can build on our understanding of how the body of Christ is developed. Like everything else in the gospel of truth, knowing this powerful principle for what it is brings great freedom for our lives, and for the body of Christ.

Recap Points

  1. A spiritual father is not a chosen position.   (1 Corinthians 4:15)

  2. Instructors restrict.   A father reveals. (Galatians 3:24 & 25)

  3. Paul warns against the multitude of instructors and identifies spiritual children as children in the faith.

  4. The righteous live by faith, not by instruction.   Be clear about what you believe. (Romans 1:17)
