Sons are led by the Spirit - The New Man Week 9

Could it be that we have been thinking about what it means to be led by the Spirit, the wrong way?  Why does the scripture link the experience of being led by the Spirit to sonship?   And for that matter, what does sonship actually mean in this text?    The scripture is always powerful and full of life, and in this teaching we dive into this truth about being led by the Spirit, so that we can more deeply understand The New Man, and walk in it with freedom.

  1. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

    1. τέκνον (tek'-non)

    2. υἱός (hwee-os)

  2. The leading of the Spirit is the leading out of bondage. (Romans 8:14 & 15)

  3.  Being led by the Spirit is not about the granular instruction that restricts you, rather it is living and moving in freedom.

  4. The leading of the Spirit of God is not burdensome.  It is His goodness. (Romans 2:4)

  5. If you shift your focus from yourself, and focus on God and His goodness, your consciences will be free to be Led by the Spirit. (Romans 7:23)
