Unity in Diversity - The Body of Christ Week 12

In this teaching we closely examine the dynamics of the Body of Christ, and how we are individual members, yet united in one body, by the Spirit. If the Church is to function as it was designed to function and not be disformed, this is a principle that we are going to have to humble ourselves to understand, embrace, and purposefully walk in - so that our Father may be fully glorified.

Recap Points

  1. Paul’s instruction is that the members of the body are joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. (1 Corinthians 1:10)

  2. There is one body.  There is one Christ.

  3. When you devalue or judge another member, you are demonstrating your lack of trust with the headship of the body, which is Jesus. (1 Corinthians 12:18 - 19)

  4. Though there are diversities of gifts, ministries, and activities – there is one Spirit. (1 Corinthians 12:25)

  5. Never put yourself in a position of victimhood. And never put yourself to be in the position of making someone else your victim.
